I'll try back later. :) j posted by: altricial (reply) post date: 03.23.05 (10:45 am) Reply to: aliciarose Hey! I'm a lot OLDER, too and have 5 kids to support! How fair is that! ;oD posted by: juniperflux (reply) post date: 03.23.05 (11:22 am) Man, I'm filthy rich! :) I was wondering the same thing about taxes and other standard of living issues associated with living in the US. That said, I'm very greatful for all that I do have access to, and I know I have it MUCH better than most people living in the world today. Interesting link. Thanks for posting it. posted by: altricial (reply) post date: 03.23.05 (11:30 am) Reply to: juniperflux Even in the states, how rich you are is less pertinant to your income than what you have to spend it on to live and work. But of course, the point of the site is much broader than that... Thanks for coming back! posted by: lindy (reply) post date: 03.23.05 (12:10 pm) haha. Now I know how much you make! hee hee. I'm right along with you there. I looooooove the fact that tyehy tied this fun little experiment in to a donation site. excellent. Out of site, never out of heart and mind... posted by: altricial (reply) post date: 03.23.05 (1:33 pm) Reply to: lindy Yeah, it isn't hard to figure people out with a little narrowing the figure down. Maybe I shouldn't include that part.... posted by: lindy (reply) post date: 03.23.05 (1:49 pm) Reply to: altricial Well, I don't think they can get it down to the exact number unless it is so important to them that they make it their business. But going back to your post (possibly inspired by BerlinBear's New Zealand post)... none of the numbers matter considering the cost of living in your geographical area. Making twice what I make in New York City means you are living like the poor paupers in the other end of the spectrum. :) posted by: altricial (reply) post date: 03.23.05 (2:23 pm) Reply to: lindy I don't know how people can afford to live in NYC and Boston and LA. Hubby makes a lot of money and I like to spend it. And having 5 kids isn't cheap. We couldn't afford to live in NYC, yet people do..on 1/3 our income! They must be a hell of a lot more frugal than I. posted by: lindy (reply) post date: 03.23.05 (4:19 pm) Reply to: altricial Or they are hanging out in a rather sturdy cardboard box... posted by: FinalyFree (reply) post date: 03.23.05 (7:55 pm) You are in the top 0.892% richest people in the world. There are 5,946,439,130 people poorer than you. How do you feel about that? A bit richer we hope. Please consider donating just a small amount to help some of the poorest people in the world. Many of their lives could be improved dramatically or even saved if you donate just one hour's salary (approx $35.48) Oh, and in case you’re interested you are the 53,560,870 richest person in the world. This looks ok until you figure in household size and the price of insuring 3 driving teenagers, lol. It's not nearly as appealing!
