World Wars and Blogging Whores
03.21.05 (3:59 pm)   [edit]

I mostly chose the title for the fun of it, but I suppose there is some truth in it.

If I were a psychic, I would be out of a job.  I was excited, even somewhat - well, maybe not happy, but certainly positive when I got hubby's note regarding World War 3.  My hopeful demeaner was short-lived, though.

At last, I thought, At last we can toss aside the fluff and wade into it.  Well, we didn't wade very far.  First we were headed to dinner, then not.  Insults were hurled, there was lots of yelling.  I tried to kidnap him and haul him off to Chicago.  He was going to call the police to report a kidnapping.  Then I tried to make him walk home.  This was not a positive prospect for him, since his cell-phone was down and we were 20 miles from home.  Then he took the keys to the car.  My cell-phone works, though, so I was just going to call the locksmith.  We both temporarily conceded.  I dropped him off home and left.  How something so sad can be so very funny, I do not know.

I told him I don't really care if he reads my blog or not, although I do find it rather strange that he did so surrepticiously.  He said I didn't need to delete the blog, so I "unhid" what I had not already deleted.  Glad I didn't delete anything important....

I've never used the internet at the library before.  It's actually quite easy (and free).  But why does it have so many pop-ups?  Shouldn't they have software installed to prevent that?

EDIT - OK, if it wasn't obvious to y'all, I have control issues.  Yes!  Me!  I know, I know....  So I'm going back to stage 1 and keeping my nose on my own face and not putting it in anyone else bidness.  I'm not gonna worry about the issues that he is dealing with unless he wants me too.  I used to worry that this path was leading to the dreadful "parallel lives"...  You know, where they stay married, but they are really just room-mates.  Television is full of those couples.  They've been married for 30 years but they don't love each other.  Well.  I'm not gonna worry about that.  And I'm not gonna worry about his problems.  I'm keeping my eyes on my own.  We'll be OK.

Yes, the library, heh. I've done this plenty when my only means to my 'life' died one day. The library is a blessing though it gets old quickly. Beats going to an American mall!

I am truly sorry to see these two worlds of yours collide. Perhaps Mr. Alt will start his own blog and see in it a cathartic release of sorts as well.

Perhaps a bit of cooling off time and a less threatening attempt will yield better results. It is obvious that you love each other. No matter how damaged the love has become over the years from both sides... it is still there.

If Mr. Alt is reading this...

Please meet in the middle and listen to each other. Many couples head the wrong way by using time together to express how unheard they are. Seems the best way to get heard is to hear.

A rambling little thought I once penned seems to fit in appropriately more or less...

'First Thought...

...And I came upon a couple sitting on a low wall, in discussion. Upon seeing me, the man motioned for me to join them and asked my opinion of their discussion. Dear Sir, said the man, she is upset with me for leaving her here while I went abroad to heal myself. And to that the woman said that she was left there to wait without word for over four weeks while many challenges were happening at home. As they continued to go back and forth, I smiled and they stopped and asked me what was so amusing. And I said, 'I can not tell you of right or wrong. I was just wondering if either of you thought to inquire about the others health.' And I continued on down the road...'

I'm getting a little tired of you making me cry in the library, missy! people are starting to whisper! They WERE starting to talk, but the librarian kept shushing them.....

aww, I am sorry! I didn't mean to make you cry. I just can't help but marvel at seeing the other half of this complex, but oh so simple team. Though it is upsetting, I am glad Mr. Alt came to call. So much good can happen now and it's all in your hands and his. :)

Bring a riding crop with you next time and lightly swat at the table every time one of the library assistants gets near you. :)

This blog is filled with more clarity then all of ours put together. A little light reading in these pages might tell the tale, and the read is so worth it. But it isn't for the superficial or lightweight among us. Platform preachers need not apply... this blog is full of substance.

I am thinking of bring oldest daughter to Chicago House of Blues the weekend of 4/9. She wants to see Easley for her birthday.

I for one, can attest to Sengu's comment, for I used to try to read Sengu's blog!

I'm not willing to settle for 'parallel lives' that's why I decided to get some outside help. I think I finally realized that the issues was 'yours, mine and ours' and I couldn't fix them(being the co-dependent I am this was a tough pill to swallow) like I thought I could.

I kind of like the library idea, would be a change. Too bad I live in a little town where the library closes at 5 p.m.

Yep! I think it's awesome that you guys are hammering it out. Like hubby told me yesterday... "Working through the issues isn't going to be painless"...but it's worth it.

Now, now, Sengu is one of the few that I did not start anything with. As I recall, YOU started it. I was just contributing a true fact. I did used to try. Many times. A lot of Anime review info that I was not into. Not that I don't like Anime. That new show Avatar is a fave of my kids. But I digress. Who needs fan's anyway? Well...unless it gets really hot.... Come to think of it... I could use a few.... not fans, but FRIENDS...
