A Birthday Song for my Deer Friend Bambi

I got weeds in my garden.
I got weeds in my soul.

You never know just what they'll bring.
The pokeweed feeds the birds that sing,
When it's 5 degrees below.

So if you've got things growin' up
Where you don't want them to be.
Chances are that it's a weed,
And chances are you'll see.

That sometimes things are really not
What you think they seem to be.
Your weeds may yet be flowers or
Perhaps they're only weeds.

It all depends on where you look
And what's your point of view.
'Cause if you've flowers or just weeds
It's really up to you....

Thanks!! And the tune is catchy too. Think "swing". Or slow it down a little, add a gee-tar and go with folk. :oD

Thanks! I had a lot of fun writing it. As I mentioned to Mermaid, it's kind of a swing tune, but you could slow it down and it would be folk. Just for fun, of course. I don't plan on getting a recording contract! ;oD

I've got wees in my frontyard. I've got weeds in my backyard.

I'm glad I've got weeds in my frontyard and my backyard because it means that I've got a frontyard and a backyard (even though there are weeds growing in them). More importantly, it also means I've got a house, my home, between the frontyard and the backyard.

I'm glad I've got weeds in my frontyard and my backyard.
